Terms of Service
1.Who we are and what this covers
getotpcode.com ("we", "us") is operated by GETOTPCODE SERVICES, registered in Nigeria, of Crown Estate, Sangotedo, Lagos.
These Terms govern your use of the getotpcode.com website, our API, and the virtual number and email service. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them, to our Acceptable Use Policy, and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be at least 18 years old.
2.What the service is, and what it is not
We rent you temporary access to a phone number, or to an email address, so that you can receive a verification message sent to it. We source those numbers and email addresses from third party suppliers. We do not own the numbers or the addresses, we do not control the networks or mail services they run on, and we do not control whether any particular message is delivered.
We are a reseller. Where our supplier fails, we fail. Section 5 says what happens to your money when that occurs.
We do not provide a number you can keep, a number you can make or receive calls on, a number registered to you, or any guarantee that a specific service will accept a number we supply. In the same way, we do not provide an email address you can keep, sign in to, read other mail at or send mail from, or any guarantee that a specific service will accept an email address we supply.
3.Your account
Sign up requires an email address, a password, and your agreement to these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy, with confirmation that you have read the Privacy Policy. You must verify the email before you can add funds or place an order. When these Terms change, we ask you to accept the new version before you can place another order.
Your identity. We record the name on the bank account that funds your wallet, its bank and the last four characters of its account number. Before your first order you must add money by bank transfer at least once. We may ask you for further proof of identity, and may refuse or suspend service until you give it, where we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse.
You are responsible for your account and for anything done through it, including through API keys you create. An API key is a credential. Treat it as you would a password. We show a key once, at creation, and cannot recover it afterwards. If a key is compromised, revoke it, which takes effect immediately.
You may hold one account. Accounts created to get around a suspension may be closed and their balance forfeited under section 9.
4.Money, and how the wallet works
The wallet is prepaid and denominated in Nigerian Naira. You add funds, and orders are paid from your balance.
How you can pay. You add funds by bank transfer in Naira, through one of our payment processors, Bachs or Flutterwave. The wallet offers Bachs first. We do not take card payments.
What we show you before you pay. You choose the amount in Naira you want to add, at least ₦1,000. Before you pay, we show you:
- The transfer fee. A percentage of the amount you chose, rounded up to whole Naira; the wallet shows the rate and the fee before you pay. It is the same whichever processor you use. You pay it: it is included in the amount you are asked to send. It is not added to your balance.
- What you pay and what you get. The amount you are asked to send is the amount you chose plus the fee. The amount you get is the amount you chose.
We then show you an account number and a bank, opened for that payment only, either on our page or on our processor's secure payment page. Send exactly the amount shown, in one transfer.
What we credit. When the processor confirms that exactly the amount you were asked to send has arrived, we credit the amount you chose. If a different amount arrives:
- Through Bachs, we credit the largest whole-Naira amount that the transfer covers once the fee on that amount is taken from it. If you sent less than you were asked to, we wait until the account you paid into stops taking payments, in case you send the rest, and then credit what has arrived by the same rule.
- Through Flutterwave, a transfer of any other amount is not credited automatically: we hold it and look into it, and you should contact our support. Flutterwave's own rules may return a transfer of a different amount to you.
If a processor reports a payment in a state we do not treat as received, we hold it and look into it, and do not credit it until the processor confirms it arrived.
How long we watch for your payment. If a transfer has not arrived, we stop watching it 12 hours after it started. A transfer that arrives later is not lost: it is credited by the same rules when the processor tells us it has arrived, and our support can check it for you.
Earlier crypto payments. Until October 2026 you could also pay in cryptocurrency through NOWPayments. We no longer take new crypto payments. A crypto payment made before then is still credited under the rules that applied when it was made, and a balance funded that way stays spendable once you have added money by bank transfer at least once.
Bonus credits, where we offer them, are promotional and are added as a separate entry.
Your balance is prepaid credit for verification services. It is not a deposit account. It is not money we hold for you and give back on request: we are not a bank, we are not a payment service, your balance earns nothing, and it exists only to be spent on this service.
Credits are not refundable, and they are not withdrawable. Money added to your wallet may be spent on the service. It cannot be withdrawn, moved to another account, paid out in cash, or returned to your bank account or any other account — not to your original payment method and not by any other route. This is a condition of using the service, and you should not add more than you intend to spend.
Where an order fails, its hold is released and the amount is available in your balance again (section 5). Nothing left your wallet, so nothing is refunded: the amount was only ever held, and it stays credit to spend here.
Prices change. Our suppliers' prices move and exchange rates move. The price you see is the price you pay for the order you place at that moment. It is not a commitment about future prices.
5.Orders, and what happens if no code arrives
When you order a number or an email address we place a hold on your balance. The hold becomes a charge only when a verification code is received.
If no message arrives within the order window, we cancel the order and release the hold automatically, and the held amount stays in your wallet. You pay nothing. You do not need to ask and there is nothing to claim. This is how the service is meant to work rather than something going wrong.
You may change the number during an order, subject to a limit on how many changes can be in progress at once. A change is a fresh attempt under the same hold. An email address cannot be changed during an order: cancel it, and the hold is released.
Once a code has been received and delivered to you, the order is complete and the hold becomes a charge, whether or not the service you were using accepted the code. Once the message reaches you, we have done what you paid for.
6.The API
We provide a REST API. Use of it is subject to these Terms and to any published rate limits. We may change the API with notice, and may impose limits to protect the service. Automated use that degrades the service for other customers may be limited or suspended.
7.Availability
We do not promise the service will be available continuously. Suppliers go down and networks fail, and we carry out maintenance. Where a number, an email address or a service is unavailable we show it as unavailable rather than taking your money for something we cannot deliver.
8.Your obligations
You agree to use the service only as permitted by the Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In particular you must not use the service, our numbers or our email addresses for:
- fraud, scams or any other deception, or money laundering;
- impersonating another person or organisation, phishing, or taking over an account that is not yours;
- getting around a ban, suspension or limit that another platform has placed on you, in order to abuse it;
- harassing, threatening or harming anyone;
- anything illegal; or
- paying with a stolen payment method, or with someone else's bank account without their permission.
You are responsible for how you use the numbers and email addresses, and for complying with the terms of any service you use them with. Many platforms restrict the use of virtual numbers and temporary email addresses. We do not advise you on whether your use is permitted by them, and we are not responsible for a third-party platform's decisions, including if it blocks, suspends or closes an account you created.
9.Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account, refuse or reverse service, and withhold or forfeit its balance, where we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse, where we reasonably believe it has been used in breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where a law, a payment provider or a supplier requires it. Credits are never refunded (section 4), and a withheld or forfeited balance is not paid out.
Where the breach is serious, meaning fraud or use that harms an identifiable person, we may close the account immediately and without notice.
Records and the law. We keep account, order and payment records, including the payer names in section 3, for the periods in the Privacy Policy. We cooperate with law enforcement and regulators, and disclose records to them on a lawful request.
You may close your account at any time by asking us at [email protected] or on WhatsApp at +2349160930294. We close it within one month of your request. Unused credits are not refunded on closure. We keep transaction and wallet records after closure, as the law requires; the Privacy Policy explains how.
10.Chargebacks and disputed transfers
This section applies to any payment that can be charged back, disputed or reversed, including a bank transfer.
We treat a chargeback, or a disputed or reversed transfer, as abuse unless you contacted us first and we could not resolve it. We may suspend your account while it is resolved, and withhold or forfeit its balance under section 9. A chargeback or reversal on credits you have already spent is a debt to us and we may pursue it.
Contact us first. Most disputes turn out to be a misunderstanding about a hold that was already released.
11.Our liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Otherwise, we provide the service as it is. Our total liability to you, for any claim, is limited to the amount you have spent with us in the three months before the claim arose.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and specifically not for the loss of an account on a third party platform, for loss of business or profit, or for the consequences of a message not arriving.
12.Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email to your registered address and will take effect no sooner than 14 days after that notice. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
13.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have exclusive jurisdiction.
